Although we are a small store, we have railroad books, detail parts, scenery and scratchbuilding supplies. There are tools, track, scenery and more. If we don't have it, we can order it. Much of what we order on Sunday arrives on Thursday. We'll even tell you real time if an item exists.  Tom’s Trackside Trains is located 1/2 block from the Menlo Park Caltrain station. We are next door to McDonald's, between El Camino Real and Caltrain.   Stop by and get the advantage of buying from an experienced brick-and–mortar hobby shop. Get advice on selecting track, power supplies, whatever we carry. We are ready and able to help you with your projects and layouts, and at discount prices too. See the real thing instead of an artist’s drawing. Test run an engine before you buy it.  Play with DCC and learn about it in terms you can understand. What really sets us apart is our experience and our help. We don't sell items that we don't recommend and believe in. This is especially important with so much poor quality merchandise being sold by stores who don't know, or worse, don't care. We stand by what we sell and treat our customers with the Golden Rule.
